the World Adventure Race 2005 USARA National Championship Qualifier
Baker Creek State Park - McCormick, SC 3 person teams (single gender
or co-ed) compete in an elite race (16-20 hours) or a sport race (3-6
hours). The elite race has been referred to the chess match of ARs due
to the emphasis on navigation, strategy and route selection. The sport
race includes mountain biking, canoeing (canoes provided), running and
basic navigation. Both races could include water crossings requiring
swimming (PFDs also provided). All proceeds go to charity. Discounted

LIFE Quest Northwest Iowa Dakota Extreme Events brings you the first
adventure race to the Sioux Falls, SD area. Omnitech LIFE QUEST ADVENTURE
RACE 2005 will challenge teams of 4 person coed or 2 person open (200
competitors total) through a (50-60 mile?) course using mountain bikes,
paddling, trek/run, ropes, their minds, and hearts. Teams will have
to work together and endure the race together as they maneuver to make
it through this course. The race location will be the extreme Northwest
corner of Iowa with race headquarters being the grounds at Inspiration
Hills Camp and Retreat Center. Teams will be expected to check in on
Friday, May 20th between the hours of 12 pm and 6 pm. The race will

Quest for Fire Angel Fire, New Mexico Nestled among the Pine
Trees and Aspens in the Angel Fire Valley of northern New Mexico is
the inaugural 55 mile Quest for Fire Adventure Race. Race includes a
25-35 mile Mountain Bike, a 12-17 mile hike/trek, and a 6-8 mile paddle.
To make the race more interesting there will be a mystery event or two.

Copper Adventure Copper Mountain, CO - The 2nd Annual Copper Adventure,
August 7, is a single day SPRINT adventure race that will include trail
running/trekking, canoeing, navigation, climbing wall, (for the teammate
of your choice), inline skating/kick bikes and mountain biking. Distances
will total approximately 25-30 miles. Awards will be given to the top
3 teams in each category (solo-M/F, 2 person-M/F/Coed, and 3 person
Coed only). No support is required, as the courses will all start and
finish at one transition area. Entry fees are Solo (M/F) $120/person
through July 23, add $15/person July 23-30. 2 person (M/F/Coed) $240/team
through July 23, add $30/team July 23-July 30. 3 person (Coed only)
$360/team through July 23, add $45/team July 23-July 30. ENTRY LIMIT
of 40 teams. No entries will be accepted after the July 30 deadline.

Krista Griesacker Memorial Adventure Race Hamburg PA - Breathtaking
views, challenging terrain, and captivating wilderness, set the scene
for this challenging fun and adventure. Join us in commemorating a friend,
fellow adventure racer, and fellow search and rescue instructor, who
died while training a few years ago. Krista spent many years training
and instructing at the Civil Air Patrol’s Search and Rescue School at
Hawk Mountain, PA. Proceeds from the race will go to benefit that volunteer
school. Teams of 2 to 3 racers will face the seemingly unending challenges
of Hawk Mountain including: rugged trekking and orienteering, mountain
biking, fixed ropes, team challenges, and paddling. Co-ed or single

SALOMON Summit Adventure (formerly Kokopelli) Frisco, CO - The 6th
Annual SALOMON Summit Adventure (formerly Kokopelli) moves to the beautiful
heart of the Rockies in Summit County, Sept 24. We are proud to be working
with the Town of Frisco who will host this fall’s race. The event is
a now a one-day race with solo’s added to the mix and NO SUPPORT IS
REQUIRED!!!. The Summit Adventure will include the following disciplines-trail
running/trekking, canoeing (on Lake Dillon), navigation and mountain
biking. Distance will be approximately 35-45 miles. Solo $145 through
September 10, add $15 September 11-18. 2 person $290/team through September

Sprint Adventure Race National Championship™ New Orleans, LA
The United States
Adventure Racing Association will sponsor the 2005 USARA Sprint Adventure
Race National Championship™ on October 15 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Teams must complete one USARA sanctioned sprint adventure race to be
eligible to compete in the 2005 USARA Sprint Adventure Race National
Championship.
There will be Coed,
Male, Female, and Coed Masters divisions. Coed Masters are defined by
all members being age 40 and above. Race age is determined by racers
age on December 31. (Example: If Joe Racer's birthday is on December
22, 1965 - making Joe Racer 40 on December 22, 2004, he would be eligible
to race in the Coed Masters division.
Teams must register
by September 10. Cost is $300.00 per team this includes the banquet.
All race fees are non refundable. Late Fee of $125.00 per person / $375.00
per team after September 10. Space is limited and teams will be allowed
in on a space available basis after September 10.

Rock 2005 USARA National Championship Qualifier Little Rock, Arkansas
Raid the Rock is an 8-14 hour 3-person coed urban adventure race. This
race promises to be competitive for the experienced racers and a great
introduction to the 24-36 hours racers. The course is a mix of urban
and wilderness racing with true navigation. The course is approximately
50 miles long (mnt biking, foot travel, canoeing and serious ropes events).

Adventure Race National Championship™
The USARA Adventure
Race National Championship™ will consist of 3 person coed teams. Coed
teams must qualify at regional qualifying races. Teams must register
within 14 days of qualifying and provide a non refundable $400.00 deposit
in order to retain their qualifying slot for the national championship
race. The remainder of the teams entry fee must be received by September
1. Total entry fees are $900.00 per team - this includes the post race
banquet. If a team fails to register within the 14 days their qualifying
slot will roll down to the next finishing team. All race fees are non
refundable as a teams acceptance prevents another team from attending.
Teams that win a
regional qualification race will receive $400.00 from the qualification
race to be put towards the teams entry fee into the USARA Adventure
Race National Championships.

Association is teaming up for the first outdoor expo to be held in Philadelphia!
This adventure race is designed for both beginners and seasoned athletes
alike. Explore and discover the many wonders in Philadelphia and beyond.
Don’t be fooled - this course will be completely different from the
June Cradle of Liberty Race. Teams will enjoy urban orienteering, river
